From April 15 to 17, Chile was the stage for the DEVELON Service Competition LATAM, organized at the headquarters of HD Hyundai Infracore Chile. Service technicians from various countries such as Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and Chile, gathered in this competition to demonstrate their skills in the handling of heavy machinery.
The competition covered several critical stages. Starting with a general maintenance inspection where each technician had to verify in the field the parameters crucial for the optimal operation of the DX225LC-7M excavators. In addition, participants faced the challenge of interpreting and executing actions from electrical and hydraulic drawings provided by Korean engineers.
A highlight was the fault diagnosis section, where Korean engineers induced problems in the machines to assess the technicians' ability to restore the normal operation of the equipment. This exercise not only tested his technical knowledge, but also his ability to work under pressure.
During the event, Korean staff took the opportunity to provide training in several areas, including advanced undercarriage inspection techniques and the use of innovative tools such as "AR Guidance" and "MR Glass" technology, which allow for more efficient diagnosis and troubleshooting thanks to 3D visualization.
Colombian Juan Camilo Cardona, from Inchcape Colombia, took first place, celebrating not only his victory but also the warmth and camaraderie experienced during the event. Jaime Castillo, representative of the Antofagasta branch and employee of HD Hyundai Infracore Chile for more than a decade, won second place in his first participation at the international level, highlighting the challenge and the learning obtained. Third place went to Emanuel Forrester of Farm Supplies Guyana. The first two places will represent Latin America in the world final to be held in 2025 in Korea.
Carlos Omaña, Instructor and Technical Support for South America, highlighted the importance of these competencies as an incentive for the continuous training of technicians and the strengthening of the work team.
Hyunsang Park, Vice President of Global AM/PS, attended at the closing of the event and congratulated the technicians for their excellent performance. Mr. Park underlined the importance of these competencies to boost the company's service capabilities and brand value. He also highlighted that "as a company we are committed to differentiating our products through exceptional service. As competition in the industry intensifies, we believe that differentiation through service is essential."
This competition not only reaffirmed HD Hyundai Infracore's commitment to technical excellence and continuous training, but also served as an enriching meeting point for technicians from Latin America.
